Show at 7:30, doors open at 6:30pm.
Jimmy’s musical training began when he was a young boy in Pennsylvania. Along with his brother Tommy, the talented young musicians joined Paul Whiteman’s Orchestra and at the same time they were recording many records under the billing “The Dorsey Brothers Orchestra”. Their band continued through the early thirties until a dispute over a tempo of a song separated the brothers for decades.
Jimmy found himself an instant leader of the band that became the birth of the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra. His records sold well in the thirties, but as the forties got under way it was apparent that Jimmy and his band had jumped to the top of the charts.
Jimmy had so many hits that he was known as the “Juke Box King”, which made him the biggest success story of the time. Over the years Jimmy had many other hit selling records and a series of motion pictures followed, establishing him firmly on top.
During the early fifties Jimmy was still a successful name in the business. Even with all of his success, he joined forces with his brother Tommy in 1953 to become the greatest band of all time.
With the untimely death of Tommy in 1956, Jimmy once again was left to carry on, but only for a short time as his own health was failing rapidly. In 1957 he left us with his last and greatest hit “So Rare” which topped the nation’s popularity charts selling over a million records. It was the biggest “Big Band” hit ever and has become a standard of “America’s Hits On Parade”.
The Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra: Directed by: David Pruyn has continued successfully for decades and is still in great demand all over the world. The leadership has been passed on to David Pruyn who has continued to bring joy to the young and the “young at heart” as they enjoy the sounds of American Music – our history.

For more than 50 years, The Lettermen—Donovan Tea, Bobby Poynton and Rob Gulack, each of whom are entertainers in their own right—have kept the meaning of harmony alive with their soft, romantic, harmonic blend of music which is as popular with their fans today as it was in 1961 when they recorded their first hit, “The Way You Look Tonight”.
For The Lettermen debut single record in the summer of 1961, Capitol Records decided to put a romantic ballad on the B-side of “That’s My Desire”, which was an attempt at a doo-wop single, figuring radio stations would have to play the A-side because the B-side was so sweet, and slow, and did not necessarily encompass the commercial sound of the day.
The B-side was “The Way You Look Tonight”. Soft, melodic and romantic, it was a departure from the rock ‘n’ roll music of the day. Eventually listener requests made it a must for radio station play lists nationwide. The song shot to No. 13, on the Billboard chart. The group’s second single that year did even better. “When I Fall In Love,” another soft, slow ballad hit No.7, establishing The Lettermen as the most romantic singing group of a generation.
To their credit, The Lettermen have over 75 albums— numerous certified gold – and a myriad of hits including “When I Fall In Love”, “Come Back Silly Girl”, “Theme From A Summer Place”, “Goin’ Out Of My Head/Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You”, “Put Your Head On My Shoulder”, “Hurt So Bad”, and “Shangri-La”.
The Lettermen have also enjoyed international success touring Japan, The Philippines, China, Thailand, Singapore, Korea, Hong Kong, Germany, France, South America, Canada, Mexico and even Saudi Arabia. They have sung and recorded in many different languages and have received eighteen gold records internationally.
Even though there have been personnel changes over the years, the one thing that has remained constant is the vision that Tony Butala first dreamed of—that unique three-part harmony as only The Lettermen can achieve. Though musical tastes have changed over the years, The Lettermen legacy continues. Harmony will always endure the true test of time—just as The Lettermen have stood the test of time.

Slaughter are a hair metal outfit from Las Vegas, Nevada, US, who found huge success with their 1990 album, “Stick It To Ya,” riding the crest of the wave of popularity of the genre before the 90s made way for alternative rock.
Rising out of the ashes of Vinnie Vincent Invasion, members Mark Slaughter (lead vocals/rhythm guitar) and Dana Strum (bass) brought in Tim Kelly (lead guitar) and Blas Elias (drums) to form Slaughter in 1988. The band quickly got to work developing their sound, fusing catchy pop melodies with their driving metal in the hope that they could find crossover appeal between rock fans and pop fans alike.
Success was not long awaited for Slaughter, with their debut album becoming a huge breakthrough hit. Bolstered by three hit singles, “Fly to the Angels,” “Up All Night” and “Spend My Life,” the debut recording went on to be certified double-Platinum in the US. Having been requested by Orion Pictures, the band then recorded the single “Shout it Out,” which appeared in the film, “Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey,” gaining heavy airplay and finding new fans from this exposure.
Their second effort, “The Wild Life,” appeared in 1992, achieving moderate success through the hit, “Real Love,” becoming certified Gold. Plans to return to the studio for a third album were set back by Kelly’s arrest for drug trafficking, as well as a motorcycle accident that prevented Strum from being gable to play due to his injuries. The album was finally completed in 1994 but by then it was released upon a changing musical market and the band were soon dropped from their label.
Signing to CMC Records, they returned with 1995’s “Fear No Evil,” a commercial failure in the US but the band had found a huge market in Japan. After releasing 1997’s “Revolution,” a more psychedelic affair, the band were struck with tragedy, following the sudden death of guitarist Kelly. Despite being deeply affected by the loss, Slaughter continued, releasing 199’s “Back to Reality,” which found commercial success once again through a number of successful singles.
Whilst not returning to the studio, the band have since toured extensively alongside the likes of Mötley Crüe member Vince Neil, Skid Row, Quiet Riot and Firehouse amongst others, helping to keep the hair metal fandom alive.

’s hard to imagine a band just coming into their own after 20 years of success, but that’s exactly what makes a true anomaly. This multi-national, Celtic juggernaut grows stronger with each live performance, and as you can imagine, after two decades and over 2000 shows, it is a true force to be reckoned with. With their latest release, Go Climb a Tree, their music has never sounded more representative of themselves as musicians and as live performers.
The band attributes their continued success to their fanatic audience, and it’s a well-diversified crowd for sure. The country-music folks adore the storytelling, the bluegrass-heads love the instrumentals, Celtic fans love their devotion to tradition, and the rockers simply relish the passion they play their instruments with.
The dedication to live shows date all the way back to the mid-1990s, when Gaelic Storm kicked off its career as a pub band in Santa Monica, California. Due to their discovery at the pub, by the end of the decade, the musicians had appeared in the blockbuster film Titanic (where they performed “Irish Party in Third Class”). This laid the groundwork for a career that would eventually find them topping the Billboard World Chart six times, making appearances at mainstream music festivals, and regularly headlining the largest Irish Festivals across the country, all the while gaining a reputation as a genre-bending Irish rock band, whose songs mix Celtic traditions with something uniquely creative.

———————————————————————
The Grass Roots are a band hailing from Los Angeles, California, United States who formed in 1965. The band have released 17 albums since their debut in 1966, but are most known for the 35 singles they released between 1966 and 1982.
If you care about the reasons that a band formed, then prepare to be disappointed. The Grass Roots were, at least at the beginning, a pretty naked attempt to cash in on the burgeoning Folk-Rock phenomenon that was sweeping across the United States in the mid-1960s. Dunhill Records put the producer and songwriter duo of Steve Barri and P.F Sloan up to it and one of the songs they demoed, titled “Where Were You When I Needed You”, was demoed by the Sloan himself. This was the track that convinced the label to go through with the project, and the single was sent to several San Francisco based radio stations. The single did reasonable business for the fledgling project and the label, along with Barri and Sloan, began looking for a band that could perform as The Grass Roots full time.
The San Francisco Bay area band The Bedouins were chosen to become The Grass Roots and got off to a good start with a version of Bob Dylan’s “Ballad Of A Thin Man”. It was released as a single and saw them achieve their first airplay on radio stations around Southern California. The band started to generate some serious hype for themselves but kneecapped it before they could capitalize on it by demanding that they release some of their blues-rock influenced original material. Barri and Sloan cut themselves off from the project and it was decided to start over from scratch with a new line-up, even though an album had been released but had not sold very well. However, come 1966, a band called The 13th Floor submitted a demo tape to Dunhill Records, and the producers for the project had found their Grass Roots.
By the summer of 1967, the band had their first top ten single on the Billboard Hot 100 in the form of “Let’s Live For Today” and for the next five years they were one of the most successful Californian acts around, with another two top ten singles coming with 1968’s “Midnight Confessions” and 1971’s “Sooner Or Later”. However, save for 1968’s Gold certified “Golden Grass” they never had as much luck on the album charts, leading to a change of sound around the late 60’s to a more brass heavy, rhythm and blues inflected sound. The band continued to have line-up troubles around this time but their records were selling, having a huge amount of hits during this time.
In 1974, The Grass Roots left their home of Dunhill Records and ever since then, a version of The Grass Roots has toured around playing their extensive back catalogue to a thriving audience. In 1982, they even set a world record for the largest audience ever played to by a rock band, at an Independence Day concert where they performed to over half a million people. Clearly they’re a band doing something right, and even if they formed to cash in on something, they’ve clearly since evolved into a truly great band in their own right, and for that, they come highly recommended to this very day.
